FILLMORE — A man shot and killed his brother Sunday night after an argument over property, police said.
John Peck, 63, was arrested for investigation of murder, according to court documents.
About 10:35 p.m., officers were called to a home at 98 W. 1000 North in Delta after Peck reported he'd shot his brother, Frank Wynn Bringard, 76, and needed help, police said.
When officers arrived, they met with an "emotional" Peck outside the home and took him into custody, according to an affidavit filed in 4th District Court in Fillmore.
Inside, officers found Bringard dead of a gunshot wound on the living room floor, police said. No one else was in the home.
Peck told police that he had "gotten into an argument with his brother over 'titles' to property which resulted in him shooting his brother," according to the affidavit.
When later speaking to detectives, Peck said he "thought his brother was lying to him over properties," police wrote.
