VINEYARD — Police identified a 6-year-old girl who was killed by a car while riding her scooter in Vineyard Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Annie Gonzalez was riding a battery-powered scooter down the incline of a driveway when she traveled into the path of an SUV that had backed out of another driveway and was traveling out of the cul-de-sac on Parker Place Road, Utah County Sheriff Sgt. Spencer Cannon tweeted.

Gonzalez suffered significant head and upper body trauma and was pronounced dead on the scene, Cannon said.

Cannon said the female driver of the SUV was cooperative and participated in drug and impairment tests. So far, all information indicates that no impairment or negligence was a factor in the crash, and police will most likely not file charges, he said.
