VERNAL — Police are searching for a person who they say stabbed at least one person and injured two others at a home Thursday.
Police responded to a report of an attack near Ashley Regional Medical Center, 150 W. 100 North, Thursday morning. Arriving officers found three people injured, who were each taken to the hospital, according to a Vernal police Facebook post.
One of the victims was transferred to a hospital in the Wasatch Front area. Police didn’t immediately release the conditions of those who were injured or any information about them.
Police said the unknown attacker is a male who was wearing all black clothing at the time of the incident. Officers had responded to a report of a suspicious person in the same area about 30 minutes before the attack who matched that description, police said.
Officers also found camera footage which has helped in the case, but no arrests have been made and the suspected attacker hasn’t been identified. Those images were not immediately released.
Police said they are seeking information about anyone who was seen walking near the hospital between 1 and 5 a.m. Thursday. Anyone with any information about the attack or the man is encouraged to call Vernal police at 435-789-5835 or Uintah Basin Communications dispatch at 435-789-4222.
