SALT LAKE CITY — Police have made an arrest in connection with the Monday stabbing death of a 16-year-old boy.
Enrique Deloza, 28, was arrested Tuesday evening, Salt Lake police said on Twitter. He was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of criminal homicide, according to a jail report.
The arrest comes following the stabbing death of Marcelino Johnson.
Police said Marcelino Johnson was walking on 1300 South between Main Street and State Street about 1 a.m. Monday with two girls. He encountered another group and an argument ensued.
The altercation continued down the street to the intersection of Kensington Avenue and State Street, where Marcelino was stabbed. He was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Police have not said what started the argument.
