LEHI — The demolition of the 600 East bridge over I-15 in Lehi is complete.
Crews worked overnight into Sunday morning to demolish the bridge as part of the I-15 Technology Corridor project.
Officials closed I-15 overnight between 2100 North and Main Street in Lehi in order to complete the demolition.
“In just eight hours, crews were able to remove the bridge deck, girders and supports, and still have the freeway open for daytime traffic,” said UDOT spokesman Zach Whitney.
The I-15 'Technology Corridor' project aims to widen the freeway to six lanes in both directions between Timpanogos Highway, state Route 92 and Main Street in Lehi. The project is set to finish in late 2020.
