SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Salt Lake Community College is expected to sell its Main Street Learning Center to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for five-point-two (M)million dollars.
The proposed sale comes as enrollment at the center has lagged behind expectations. The school had envisioned the center would have an enrollment of 38-hundred students. However, last year enrollment only hit 15-hundred.
The Utah Board of Regents executive committee approved the sale yesterday.
S-L-C-C intends to remain downtown and is seeking a facility to lease for spring classes.
