SCIPIO, Utah (AP) -- Two Richfield teens were killed over the weekend after their car was hit by a semi.
It happened on Saturday night on State Road 50 east of Scipio.
Authorities say the passengers -- 16-year-old Kade Winkle and 17-year-old Tyson Ogden -- died in the accident.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers say a 16-year-old driver lost control of the car while passing another car. Officers say that's when the car apparently slid sideways into oncoming traffic and was broadsided by a semi-trailer.
Troopers say Winkle and Ogden were pronounced dead on the scene. While, the driver and another 16-year-old passenger were taken to the hosptial in serious condition.
