(KSL News) -- A Davis County couple facing charges for the beating death of a 10-year old girl, made their first appearance in court today.
Ryan and Angela Andrews have been charged with murder and aggravated assault. Prosecutors say they beat Shelby Andrews to death.
The couple says they were disciplining the child and "lost control."
Today during court, the judge set bail at 500 thousand dollars for each person. They'll return to court, later on this month.
Shelby died from a seizure caused by blunt-force trauma.
