PETOSKEY, Mich. (AP) — A woman has gotten married at a northern Michigan hospital just two days after undergoing open-heart surgery.
McLaren Northern Michigan hospital in Petoskey says 44-year-old Tammy Willis married Steve Barnadyn on Saturday in the hospital's chapel.
Willis was supposed to get married Friday, but she went to the hospital Wednesday with severe chest pain. She went into surgery Thursday morning after a severe blockage was found.
A day after the surgery, Willis told Barnadyn she didn't want to wait to get married. The couple's families and hospital staff worked to pull together a wedding in the hospital's chapel, including a wedding cake, guestbook and reception.
More than 40 family members, friends and hospital staffers shared in the festivities.
