(KSL News) A woman was seriously injured tonight by jumping head first into a backyard swimming pool.

Witnesses say a woman dove in after her nephew, and hit her head on the bottom.

Jeremy Allen/Captain, South Jordan Fire Dept.: "Talking to the homeowner, the pool at the deepest is six and a half feet." "Backyard pools typically aren't designed for diving unless they do have a diving board."

The woman's brother pulled her out. She was breathing, but unconcious.

A helicopter flew her to the hospital.
