LONDON (AP) — The head of the U.K. arm of Airbus has warned the aerospace company would reconsider its investments in Britain should the country vote to leave the European Union.

Paul Kahn has joined several prominent business leaders in expressing concern about the promised referendum on EU membership. Prime Minister David Cameron has vowed to hold such a vote by the end of 2017 — after he has tried to negotiate reforms with the 28-member bloc.

Business leaders are starting to make their views known, mindful of consequences that a so-called "Brexit" would bring.

Kahn says that should Britain vote to leave, Airbus would reconsider future investment if business conditions were more favorable in other parts of Europe.

Airbus also has European operations in France, Germany and Spain.
