(KSL News) Part of I-215 was closed because of a chase involving the West Valley Metro Gang Unit.
Northbound I-215 at 2200 North was closed for about two hours today because the officers were pursuing a robbery suspect. The suspect allegedly robbed a Cricket store on 2495 S. Redwood Rd. this afternoon.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found the suspect in the parking lot. The suspect took off and got on to I-215. Police say speeds reached 90 to 105 mph.
The suspect got off of I-215 at 2200 North, went over the ramp, and tried to get back on to I-215. That's where police performed a pit maneuver.
The suspect is in police custody. The suspect complained of neck pain and was taken to the hospital for treatment. Police have not released the name of the suspect.
