(KSL News) The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints plans to build a new temple in Phoenix, Ariz. Church President Thomas S. Monson made that announcement today.
That will bring the total number of LDS temples already in operation or in the planning and construction phases worldwide to 140.
With the new temple in Phoenix, there will be five temples in Arizona. There are currently two operating temples in Mesa and Snowflake, Ariz., and two announced temples scheduled to be built in Gila Valley and Gilbert, Ariz.
