Gene Kennedy reportingAuthorities hunt for a suspect after an overnight shooting in Midvale.

Four men gathered at one woman's apartment and it didn't take long before words turned into a fight, and shots were fired.

Midvale Police want to find a man they say they know well. Investigators say he fired nearly half a dozen shots at a group of men at a Midvale apartment complex.

This morning police told us they're looking for a man they believe has a criminal history including gang affiliation. They also told us he's on parole for a federal crime. You can bet police are talking with his friends, or anyone who knows him after what happened overnight.

Police say the suspect visited a woman at the Spring of Country Woods apartments. There were three other men there too. The group got into an argument, then a fight in the parking lot.

As both parties were leaving, police say the man fired multiple shots at the three men who were in this van. At least five rounds hit the van. One shot went through the windshield to the passenger seat. Amazingly, no one hit.

Sgt. John Salazar / Midvale Police "Once the bullets hit the van, the three victims jumped out and ran, one man was injured in the face, probably from broken glass and one ricocheted off the van and hit and apartment."

No one in the apartment injured.

Police say several people are very lucky. Nearby residents are very unsettled by this incident.

Robert, Neighbor: " I moved in to this place because it was a nice place 12 years ago and now its come to this."

Here's a description of the suspect: 27-years-old, five foot nine, 185 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes. If you have information about this case, call Midvale police.

This man is facing some serious charges: Attempted murder, plus the parole violation.
