SALT LAKE CITY — Utahns love the great outdoors, and it doesn't take much research to experience new sites in the Beehive State.
Salomon CityTrail helps smartphone users find the best trails in their cities, and Utah has a lot to offer. In addition to finding the trails, Salomon CityTrail tracks runners' distance, and the further they run, the more points they'll earn to unlock new features on the app.
The app's features include finding historical spots, creating points of interest, tracking your workout and signing up for community runs.
Some trails CityTrail includes are City Creek Park, 4th Avenue dual stairway, Park City Citytrail, and City Creek Canyon and Capitol Hill.
The Park City Citytrail spans 4.6 miles with nine points of interest to explore, including alleyways, art installations, historic buildings and trail overlooks.
The City Creek Canyon and Capitol Hill trail is half on pavement, half on trail, with views of Capitol Hill and Temple Square throughout. The 5.2-mile trail includes a stroll through Memorial Park.
Runners who enjoy a more labor-intensive exercise might enjoy running up and down the beautiful dual staircase at 4th Avenue.
Utahns can take a more leisurely run through City Creek Park and enjoy the leaves changing on the many trees throughout the park.
Salomon CityTrail is offered in 14 cities across the United States.
