HILL AIR FORCE BASE — For anyone wanting to hone those bowling skills, you can get loads of practice by buying your own bowling lane at a public auction on Oct. 9.
The Department of Defense will be auctioning 20 bowling alley lane sections that were previously used at the Hill Air Force Base Bowling Center, according to a news release. The sections were either used as the "walk up" part of the lane and/or a bowling lane section.
The bowling lane sections are no longer needed at the base and will go up for public auction on the Defense Department auction website, Government Liquidation.
The lane sections are each 12 feet by 6 feet and are made of wood laminate, the news release stated. All 20 sections are currently stacked on pallets and can be reconstructed for use in a bowling alley or for personal use. The bidding for each of the 20 lanes will begin at $25.
The online auction will begin on Wednesday at 10 p.m. and will close Monday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m.
