WEST VALLEY CITY — The Stand Up For Pits Foundation brought "Stand Up For Pits" to Wiseguys Comedy Club Sunday night.

Comedian and headliner Rebecca Corry believes there's no better way to educate and save the lives of animals than through laughter. Her abused rescue, Angel, was the inspiration behind the event.

"The abuse and discrimination of animals isn't just an animal issue. It's not just a problem for the animal world to fix," Corry said. "This is everyone's problem."

She said society needs to understand that this is a social issue just as much as it's an ethical treatment of animals issue.
