SALT LAKE CITY — Team USA unveiled some of the athletes' uniforms Wednesday in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi.

The uniforms for the Freestyle Ski teams have to be a very particular make and material to allow them to fly through the air. The athletes also say that if they aren't wearing the right gear, they won't look good.

"It's a one piece suit," said Freestyle Ski team member, Dylan Ferguson. "It sort of looks like two pieces, but it's one that zips together. We want it to stretch while we're in the air as well as be tight and be able to show our body line."

The uniforms — designed by Columbia — are solid blue with a bold red stripe. Inside, they sport omni heat technology so the athletes don't get cold in Sochi.

The Freestyle Ski World Cup starts Thursday at Deer Valley. Elite moguls and aerial skiers will compete for a spot in the Olympics. The event is free for spectators.
