SALT LAKE CITY — Former Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan has been making the rounds since his early 2011 departure from the organization, interviewing with several teams around the league for the head coaching position.

However, each time, Sloan has said the job was not for him — whether it be Portland, Charlotte or Milwaukee. But it could have just been posturing before another position opens up within the Jazz organization.

Sloan, who still has a home in Utah, has been in preliminary discussions with the Jazz for an unspecified position, according to Jody Genessy of the Deseret News.

"That's up to (them). That's a situation that's strictly up to Ty or somebody in the Jazz organization," Sloan told Genessy. "If they want me around, fine. If they don't, (fine). They'd talked to me a little bit about it a little bit earlier."

Since leaving the team, Sloan has stayed close with the organization, attending nearly every home game and working closely with Jazz management. Sloan even participated in the Jazz's NBA Pre-Draft Combine in Chicago and has been seen at Zions Bank Basketball Center for team's first pre-draft workout.

With the Jazz being such a tight-lipped organization, it's not likely any rumors will be leaked. If Sloan does have a future with the team, it will likely be released at a later date.

Amazing rain delay performance

A rain delay in baseball is frustrating for all involved. Not only is the game delayed, but the fans lose interest quickly when they're getting rained on. However, for fans of the Clemson Tigers, the rain delay proved to possibly be more entertaining than the baseball game.

The game was in 2011, but has since been shared by a few sports websites. In a game against Davidson, the Clemson baseball team decided to take matters into their own hands by providing some entertainment.

The team starts with a game of human bowling, and continues with deer hunting, a mini war scene and a game of seven-on-seven football. They continue on with several other acts. The entertainment lasts for just over 6 minutes, but is great fun.

Bizarre batting stance

It's not easy to hit a ball coming at you in the 80-90 mph range, but batters do whatever they have to do to give themselves an edge on the pitcher. For Coastal Carolina outfielder Alex Buccilli, his crouched, wide-legged stance helps him prepare for the pitch.

It's bizarre on all accounts and looks nothing like a "standard" stance in baseball, but so far this year he is hitting .280 in 58 games. Buccilli also has 27 RBIs and has 21 runs scored. One of the announcers described Buccilli's stance as "a real rhythm mechanism."

Whatever it is, it appears to be working for him. Nevertheless, it's still a bizarre batting stance.
