(KSL News) Families of coal miners killed or injured in the Crandall Canyon mine say they plan to sue two power companies involved in operations.

Intent to sue notices have already been sent to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power and the Intermountain Power Agency.

Families say both agencies caused or permitted dangerous working conditions and risky mining practices. The notice does not involve mine owner Robert Murray or any of his companies.
