MERIDIAN, Idaho — An artist's rendering of the Meridian Idaho Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been released.
According to the Mormon Temples website, the rendering and the site plan have been submitted to Ada County for approval.
In April 2011, Church President Thomas S. Monson announced plans to build the temple. The temple in Meridian will be the fifth in Idaho, with others in Boise, Twin Falls, Idaho Falls and Rexburg.
Pres. Monson also announced two other temples at the same time, one to be built in Fort Collins, Colo., and one in Manitoba, Canada.
A rendering of the Fort Collins temple was released last October.

The Coloradoan.com reports the Fort Collins Planning and Zoning Board approved temple plans there in February, although some neighbors had previously objected to the steeple's height. Construction on the new temples was expected to take about two years from the time plans are approved.
