SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A drunk driver who caused a fatal crash on Bangerter Highway last spring has been sentenced to serve up to 15 years in prison.
In a deal with prosecutors, Finhas Habib pleaded guilty to second-degree felony automobile homicide for the April 27 death of Chad L. Hayward.
A judge on Monday ordered Habib to serve a prison term of one to 15 years.
Habib, whom police said had bloodshot eyes and smelled of alcohol, ran a red light before smashing into Hayward's pickup truck. Two passenger's in Habib's car were injured, but survived.
Police say they found an open beer bottle in the car.
