LINDON — Make-A-Wish Utah has been granting the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions for the past 26 years. Fundraisers like the Rubbery Ducky Derby and 350 volunteers help make their wishes come true, and one particular volunteer celebrated a very special occasion on Thursday.

Irene Wiesenberg has been volunteering for Make-A-Wish since 2001, and on Thursday she helped to "grant" her 100th wish.

  • Rubber Ducky Derby
  • Lindon Aquatics Center, Lindon
  • Date: Aug. 25, 2012
  • Time: 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
  • Sponsor a rubber ducky for $6

According to Wiesenberg, the average wish costs $5100 in cash and $3400 in donations.

The Rubber Ducky Derby is allowing people a chance to sponsor a duck for $6 to help raise money for the children.

One of the children that will benefit from the fundraiser is six-year-old Skyler who is currently battling cancer. His wish is to turn his bedroom into a Chuck E. Cheese.

Come support the Rubber Ducky Derby and Make-A-Wish Foundation and make a difference in the life of a sick child.
