SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- day Saints has announced the dates for an open house and dedication of its Calgary Alberta Temple.
The public is invited to visit the temple during an open house from Sept. 29 through Oct. 20, excluding Sundays and Saturday, Oct. 6.
The temple will be formally dedicated on Sunday, Oct. 28. A cultural celebration featuring music and dance is planned for Saturday, Oct. 27.
Free reservations for the open house can be made through the temple's website in the coming weeks.
The temple was announced Oct. 4, 2008.
The Calgary Temple will be the third in Alberta; the Cardston Temple opened in 1923 and the Edmonton Temple in 1999. There are currently 137 LDS temples worldwide and 29 announced or under construction.
