SALT LAKE CITY — The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is looking to grow its social media outreach by offering Facebook friends a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
For those who have dreamed of leading the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, now is your chance. Communications director Michael Jensen with Deseret Book has helped the choir put together a Facebook contest called "Conduct the Choir Video Facebook Contest," where anyone can upload videos to YouTube of themselves pretending to lead the Choir.
One winner will be chosen to actually lead the Choir in an upcoming rehearsal.
Jensen said the contest is a good way to connect fans of the Choir and perhaps create some online buzz. Several videos have already been submitted, and Jensen said they have been pretty fun to watch.
The contest officially started April 25 and will go until May 25.
According to the Choir's website, participants must visit the Choir's Facebook page and download an audio clip of the song "Ode to Joy" from the contest tab. The participant needs to record a 30-60 second video of themselves conducting the Choir.
