(KSL News) Police release the name of the man arrested for severely injuring his four-month-old.
Timothy James Roberts, of Clinton, is now in jail. The mother took their baby to the hospital with a fractured skull, broken ribs, and an injured shoulder.
The mother explained the injuries were caused by the family dog, but doctors weren't buying it.
Police questioned Roberts after arresting him on outstanding warrants. Detective Ryan Morrill, Clinton Police Department, said, "The baby's head was crushed, essentially, and that's how the injury occurred, and he admitted he let himself just get way out of control."
Police say the baby is recovering and has been released from the hospital.
The Department of Child and Family Services is still working to determine where the child should be permanently placed.
Roberts has been charged with felony child abuse.
The baby's mother has been charged with obstructing justice.
