(KSL News) Crews have gained the upper hand tonight on a fire burning in the southeast end of the Salt Lake Valley.
It's burning in the rugged Bell Canyon area east of Sandy. Air tankers dropping retardant and a chopper dropping water helped ground crews contain the fire to 11 acres.
Winds fanned the fire but blew it away from homes at the base of the canyon.
There's still no word on how it started, but police are looking for a couple people who left the area.
