PROVO — A Provo jewelry store was robbed at gunpoint and its employees tied up Monday according to Provo Police.
A man entered Losee Jewelers at 2230 North University Parkway around 6:30 p.m. and asked to look at some jewelry, police said.
"A few minutes later another suspect walked in," said Sgt. Matt Siufanua. "It was then they both pulled out guns, pointed (them) at the clerks, and then another individual came in."
The three males took all three store employees who were manning the store to an upstairs room and tied them up with duct tape, he said. They also covered the employees' eyes and mouths.
"Being tied up having their eyes covered, their mouths covered with duct tape, very terrifying," Siufanua said of the victims.
Police were still processing the scene Monday night, and it was unclear how much the men made off with, Siufanua said. The men were believed to have raided the store for an hour.
"For about an hour they had free reign of the building," Siufanua said.
Eventually, the employees were able to untie themselves and call the police.
In addition to jewelry, the men escaped in one of the employee's vehicles. Police are looking for a 2011 black Jeep Wrangler with license plate Z742YW.
The men are described as being about 5 feet 10 inches tall with olive complexions, Siufanua said. They all wore down winter jackets — one in charcoal, one in navy and one in red.
"It does not sound random. This sounds like they planned it. They knew what they were doing," Siufanua said.
