EAST MILLCREEK — Police have arrested a woman they believe was knocking on doors, asking to use the bathroom and then stealing anything she could put in her pockets once inside.
Kerri Ann Brugger, 51, was located at about 4 p.m. Friday after news media alerted the public of the situation. It is believed that Brugger has been using the scam to get inside of people's homes since September.
According to Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal, Brugger will be booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of multiple burglary charges. She has a lengthy history of various burglary, theft and shoplifting charges, most of which have been dismissed on the grounds that Brugger is indigent.
She was also found guilty earlier this year, for not properly licensing her dog.
