(KSL News) Seat belts made a difference for three people involved in a high speed crash early this morning.

The driver was speeding southbound on I-15, near the south interchange when he lost control, hit the barriers twice, and slammed into a retaining wall. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and had to be flown to the hospital with serious injuries.

At least two other people in the car were wearing seat belts and walked away from the accident. Officials say alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.
