SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake County Council has backed the Utah Compact on Immigration Reform.
The council voted seven to two to support the compact which was created by government, religious and business leaders to call for "reasonable" immigration reform.
Those who voted against the endorsement said they felt the compact could be seen as support of amnesty for illegal immigrants.
