(KSL News) -- A fatal crash on Van Winkle Thursday morning, shut down 700 East.

A 78-year-old man was turning left onto 4500 south, when a pick- up truck T-boned his car.
Police say the woman driving the truck collided with man's car, at speeds upwards of 70 miles an hour.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was flown to the hospital.
7th east was closed and used as a landing zone.
