CEDAR CITY -- A rollover accident on Interstate 15 near Cedar City has killed at least three people.

Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Roden says the van was on its way from Las Vegas to Bryce Canyon National Park. It was headed northbound on I-15 around 7 p.m. Monday when the driver somehow lost control. The van hit the median and rolled near mile marker 66.

There were 15 people in the vehicle at the time, and many of them were ejected in the accident.

Two adults and one child died in the accident. The adults were ejected from the vehicle, but the child was trapped inside.

With the seriousness of the injuries, Roden said the number of fatalities could grow.
