SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources is making 1,500 deer permits available for hunters 18 and younger.
The youth archery deer permits will go on sale next week. People who will be 18 or younger on Aug. 21 can apply. Permits are available at the Division of Wildlife Resource's website and at division offices.
The youth permits are not part of the state's current 95,000 general deer permit cap. They're extra permits the Utah Wildlife Board added to give young hunters a better chance to hunt this fall.
