SALT LAKE CITY (KSL News Services) -- Another bank opens today in Salt Lake City but this bank is designed to better fit the needs of Latinos living in Utah. These new banks are so popular that many have long lines all day long.
Wells Fargo Vice-President and Latino Manager Silvia Norman says they're opening their third Latino bank today in Utah and they plan to open 13 more in the next 18 months. “We are still doing our initiative of sixteen total here in Utah. This is our third one and our focus is to do thirteen more.”
Since Wells Fargo opened their first Latino focused bank, they've seen a 20-percent increase in clients. “The Latino population increasing in Utah is just an awesome challenge that we’re doing really well.”
She says the new banks are different than other banks because they've found the Latino community often brings family members to the bank so they have a much bigger waiting area and lobby than other banks.
