SALT LAKE CITY -- Residents of a Salt Lake City apartment building started their Friday with an unpleasant surprise.

Someone punctured the tires of nine cars in the parking lot at 1040 N. Redwood Road. Police say they have very little to go on.

Tires from nine cars were slashed sometime Thursday night or Friday morning.

"Right now we have no suspect information at this time. Nobody observed anything, there wasn't anything left behind at the scene," said Sgt. Jeff Webb of the Salt Lake City Police Department.

Officers say this is just one of several instances of tire slashings they have seen in recent weeks. They ask anyone with information on the crimes to give them a call.
