BRIGHAM CITY, Utah (AP) -- A judge on Tuesday sentenced a former adoption worker to 18 months probation for stealing dozens of rolls of microfilmed adoption records from a Davis County courthouse.
Jill Ekstrom will also pay a $540 fine and $850 in restitution to the Davis County sheriff's office.
In June, Ekstrom pleaded no contest to charges that she stole the records. The records included information on up to 400 adoption cases.
Ekstrom is the former owner of UtahFinders.com. She gained notoriety for reuniting adopted children with their biological parents.
Judge Ben Hadfield also ordered medical and psychological evaluations for Ekstrom. She appeared in court pulling an oxygen tank.
