Utah airmen head to Saudi Arabia

Nicole Gonzales reporting Another group of Utah airmen is heading overseas to support Operation Iraqi Freedom. The group left this morning from the Salt Lake International Airport, headed to Saudi Arabia.

The airmen are part of the 151st Security Forces Squadron. They will be providing convoy security, base defense and law enforcement. The squadron already has completed training in Nevada, so now it's ready to go.

Senior Airman David Defreeze said, "It's pretty sad. This is my first deployment, so it's kind of new to me to leave everybody behind. But six months isn't too bad. It'll go by fast."

"It's kind of scary going to a place where they'll kill you if they have the chance," he added.

The tour will last six months.
