Two USA teams play for gold

There's no doubt the biggest story in Beijing at this hour is the Gold Medal pursuits of the USA Men's Volleyball and Basketball teams.

Before the Closing Ceremonies puts the bow on Beijing, we have the feel good story of these Olympics, the men's volleyball team playing through the devastating tragedy and playing now in the gold medal game now for the first time in 20 years.

Hugh McCutcheon, USA men's volleyball head coach, said, "There's so much of this, for us, psychologically, was about insuring a place on the podium. And you know, I think now we just get to go and play a little freer, but I know the guys have been dreaming about this for a lot of years, and here is a chance to put it into practice." Ryan Millar told Tom Kirkland that his name tag will hopefully be replaced by a gold medal.

After beating Spain by 37 points in group play, the USA basketball team gets them again today for gold. Deron Williams said, "I look forward to it. I can picture myself up there on the podium getting that medal and in the locker room spraying champagne. So I'm ready, I'm excited."

Salt Lake Bees star Matt Brown is coming home with the bronze medal. He says, "It's a once in a lifetime thing. It's been really fun. It opened my eyes to see what it's like on the other side of the world. I got to see a lot." Of course Brown's Bees teammate Kevin Jepsen will also be heading home with the bronze medal.

Hopefully, today will be a double-gold day here in Beijing. I'm headed over to the volleyball venue for USA vs. Brazil. The basketball gold medal game is scheduled to start in just a couple hours at 1:30 a.m.
