Parley's Canyon became a deadly stretch of freeway over a 12 hour period. Two people died in two different wrecks.

Two People Killed in Parley's Canyon Wrecks

Around 3:00 this morning, a man was driving down Parley's Canyon when his car ran into the back of a slow-moving semi truck. The car's driver, a man in his 20's, died in the wreck. Troopers believe speeding caused the crash. That was near mile marker 128.

Around 6:00 last night, just about a mile up the road, the driver of a black SUV heading west on I-80 lost control and swerved into oncoming traffic. The SUV hit a white car, shearing the roof off of it.

The driver of the white car was flown to the hospital. She's in critical condition.

The SUV bounced off the white car and hit a pick-up truck with a three-year-old girl and her mother inside. The child died. The mother was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV and two kids inside that vehicle were also taken to the hospital -- all are expected to be okay.

I-80 eastbound was closed near Lamb's Canyon for a couple of hours Sunday evening after that horrible wreck.
