Two Pedestrians Killed In Downtown Moab

MOAB, Utah – Two people have been killed in downtown Moab after a crash involving a vehicle and pedestrians. The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. Thursday near 500 South Main Street. Officials from the Moab City Police Department said two pedestrians were killed when they were struck by a vehicle. The victims were identified as an elderly male and female that were visiting the area from Ohio. Police said they were apparently crossing the five-lane road outside of a designated crosswalk. https://www.facebook.com/moabpolice/posts/2553292818060676 Officials said the driver of the vehicle was travelling at or under the posted speed limit of 35 mph. Main Street was closed between Kane Creek Boulevard to 300 South. Traffic was being diverted between Kane Creek Boulevard and 500 West. Drivers have been asked to avoid the area. Police expected the road to be closed for several hours.
