SALT LAKE CITY — Salt Lake City police say a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting on Friday has been located in Oregon.
But police declined Wednesday to release any other details about the person, citing an "active and on-going investigation."
Christopher James Taylor, 32, was shot outside a gas station, 310 S. 900 East, about 1 a.m. Friday and died a short time later from his injuries. Police believe he had been in some sort of argument with another man.
On Wednesday, Salt Lake police announced that detectives received a tip on the alleged gunman's name and location and that he was apprehended in Oregon.
"The suspect is in custody in Oregon on unrelated charges," according to a prepared statement from police.
Police declined Wednesday to say where in Oregon the person was found, if that person was already in jail when found, and what that person is in custody for.
As of Wednesday, formal criminal charges against the alleged suspect had not been filed in connection with the Salt Lake incident.
