Randall Jeppesen reportingIt's graduation season for local colleges and universities, and some students are cashing in on some big bucks to keep their education going.
Christopher Palmer will be among the students graduating from BYU this week, but from here he's off to get his doctorate. It helps that he received a National Science Foundation fellowship, which means he gets a lot of money to go to school. "The total will be $121,500; not a bad take," he said.
He earned the award for his research on education in Armenia and his future plans. "I'm thinking after I graduate from MIT, go be a professor," Palmer said.
Another soon-to-be BYU graduate also received an over $100,000 award to keep going to school.
