SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Federal officials are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the conviction of the person or people responsible for starting a 560-acre fire that cost almost $200,000 to fight.
U.S. Bureau of Land Management officials say the Lonesome Peak fire near Eureka burned for 10 days before it was declared controlled on Sept. 2.
BLM Special Agent Brent Range said he couldn't discuss why the agency believes the fire was deliberately set without giving away evidence that could help solve the case.
