HANNA, Duchesne County — A motorcyclist was killed in Duchesne County Thursday evening after hitting a deer and then being run over by another vehicle, troopers said.
The motorcyclist was traveling east on state Route 35 about 11:30 p.m., several miles west of Hanna, when they struck a deer on the highway and crashed, said Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cam Roden.
Another eastbound vehicle turned the corner shortly after and saw the motorcycle on the road facing west. Roden said the driver of that vehicle thought the motorcyclist was drifting into oncoming traffic.
Roden said that the driver veered right to avoid a head-on collision and ran over the motorcyclist on the shoulder of the eastbound lane. The driver of that vehicle reported the incident.
The motorcyclist's identification has not been released and more information was not available.
