Ogden police looking for rape suspect

Sandra Yi reportingOgden police are looking for a man accused of raping a woman inside her apartment at gunpoint. It happened early Saturday morning.

The woman is scared and planning to move out of her apartment, but she's speaking out because she wants the man who attacked her to go to jail.

Robin is feeling a lot of emotions, but mostly fear. "I was so scared of every little noise being him outside with a gun," she said.

It was 4:30 Saturday morning, and she was waiting for her boyfriend get off work. Robin was sitting in a chair inside her apartment, with the back door open, smoking a cigarette when she heard a man outside. So, she grabbed a knife.

"I had my knife in my hand when he walked through the door because I heard him coming up the stairs," Robin said. The man came into her apartment, threatened her, then raped her at gunpoint.

An aneurysm two years ago left Robin disabled. She says she couldn't fight back. "He had the gun pressed to my head really hard. I was afraid of him accidentally shooting me," she said.

When the man left, he dropped his change on the floor. Robin locked the door then ran to a neighbor's apartment for help.

The man may have been hanging around this complex earlier that night. Neighbors told the couple he was peeping through windows and ringing doorbells.

David Russell, the victim's fiancé, says, "It could be your sister. It could be your mother. It could be you. If people watching this TV program, I hope that we come together as a community and we catch this guy."

Robin says she's never seen the man before.

She doesn't want him to get away with this. She says, "You can't just walk into other people's houses and take stuff from them, and take especially that from them. I don't know. He's going to pay."

Police say the man was in his 20s and is about 6 feet tall. He had brown, curly hair and was wearing a baseball cap, black shirt, jeans and a black coat. If you have any information, call Ogden police.
