Utah may not be a state Barack Obama can win, but he certainly can make money here.
Through July, Obama raised $706,046 here. John McCain collected just $595,320. So, Obama earned nearly 20 percent more, even though McCain had Mitt Romney and President Bush campaigning and fundraising for him in Utah.
A member of the grassroots group "Utah for Obama" tells The Deseret News it's attributable to an "incredible amount of enthusiasm."
Political analysts aren't acting surprised, saying Obama has been the most successful fundraiser in the history of the presidential candidates.
