Multiple serious injuries reported after dust storm leads to 8 vehicle crash near Utah, Idaho border

SALT LAKE CITY — A roadway is closed near the Utah-Idaho border after a dust storm created low visibility and resulted in an 8-vehicle crash, the Utah Highway Patrol said. According to Trooper Takesha Durrant, the storm kicked up around 4 p.m. on Wednesday on U.S. Highway 91 in Cache County. He said there were "multiple serious injuries" after the crash.

At the time of publication both northbound and southbound U.S. Highway 91 were closed at mile marker 45. A crew from Utah Highway Patrol is on the scene assessing what happened.
