Man critically injured in Cache County snowmobile crash

RICHMOND, Cache County — A 57-year-old man was critically injured after the snowmobile he was riding crashed in a remote area of Cache County Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a snowmobile crash at Cornish Ridge near the Tony Grove Lake area the northern part of the county about 1:40 p.m., Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Doyle Peck said.

The man, whose name was not released, was riding snowmobiles with at least one other person when the crash happened, Peck said. He added the snowmobile may have rolled on top of the man.

A search and rescue team was dispatched to get the man and bring him to where they could safely land a medical helicopter. He was then flown to Logan Regional Hospital with life-threatening internal injuries, Peck said.
