SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A bill to allow confidential reporting of poor drivers is on its way to Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman.
On a vote of 45-25, the House gave final approval to legislation that says people can alert the state if they believe someone should not be driving.
Senate Bill 34 says the complaint must be filed in person to avoid bogus reports.
The Utah Driver License Division would investigate to determine whether a driver should undergo a medical review or take a driving test. Supporters say some older drivers should not be behind the wheel.
Rep. Carl Wimmer, a Republican from Herriman, hopes the bill can save lives.
